The Academy Awards and more....

So a couple days late and a dollar short but nonetheless I still must dish on my Oscar night experience!!!  Probably, HANDS DOWN the best production of the Oscars I have ever seen and I haven't missed the night of the Oscars since 7th grade...I'm obsessed! The Kodak Theater was more beautiful that it has ever been.   Hugh Jackman's humor and good looks made him one of Oscars best hosts to date.  The musical performances were vibrant and engaging, Beyonce and Hugh Jackman made it work on stage, who knew?  I loved how 5 previous Oscar winners in either the supporting actress/actor and leading actress/actor categories came out on stage to honor the nominees in each, speaking directly to the nominee in the audience. This created a stir of tears throughout the theater as well as a "sobbfest" at my house Sunday night-well done.  Now lets get on with it.  Sean Penn best actor for Milk!!!  Kate Winslet best actress for The Reader!!!  Slumdog Millionaire took home 8 Oscars!!! EIGHT!!! This was a low budget indie film without A-list actors and they stunned everyone and made it possible for people to dream again.  It was truly uplifting I cried everytime someone from the film won anything it was so inspiring.

I still can't believe Leo wasn't nominated as best actor for his performance in Revolutionary Road, its a total disgrace, he was phenomenal, the movie wouldn't have been the same without him.  I dream sometimes that one day i'll be up on the stage at Kodak Theater accepting my Oscar, but I doubt that will ever happen because I'm not an actress, nor a director, nor a screenwriter, nor a composer, nor a animation wizard...but I can still dream, hey isn't that what the Oscars are all about...dreams?
